Film sets for Studio Scarabe

In 1981 Studio Scarabe director, Adri Boon, invited me to design a set for the film 'Plus Echo'. We agreed on a massive door which closes on Zak as he descends to an underground workshop. The sixteen elements of the door echo the shape of a key as they close in a predetermined sequence. At first the hinged blocks form a tower that progressively unfolds to become a wall. These pictures show informal rehearsals as work progressed.
